Kenard Lang is a native Floridian and was raised in the Central Florida community. He was active in the community and church organizations and attended Maynard Evans High School where he excelled in academics and athletics. He furthered his education and athletic dreams at the University of Miami (FL), where he forewent his senior year to pursue a career in the National Football League.
After being selected in the first round, 17th pick overall in the 1997 draft by the Washington Redskins, he also played for the Cleveland Browns and the Denver Broncos. Kenard has come to a place in his professional career where he is striving to use the talents and blessings that he has been given to make a difference in society. He has a love for children and education, and hopes to be a voice in educating people with regards to taking preventative measures in the fight against cancer.
Kenard is a God-fearing man whose faith has catapulted him in both his professional and personal life. His parents instilled in him as a child that faith is the substance of thing hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is this faith that sustains Kenard in his life and efforts to make a change. He is an active member of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando where the third floor of the church's Family Life Center is affectionately named "Kenard's Huddle", for his donation that made its completion possible.
